Professor Ascierto is Full Professor of Medical Oncology at the University of Naples Federico II and Director of the Department of Skin Cancers, Cancer Immunotherapy and Developmental Therapeutics at the National Cancer Institute IRCCS Fondazione G. Pascale in Naples, Italy and he serves as an advisor on HBI-8000. Professor Ascierto has contributed to the development of melanoma clinical practice guidelines for the Italian Association of Medical Oncology (AIOM), the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO), and the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO). He has authored approximately 800 peer-reviewed publications and served as Principal Investigator on more than 160 clinical trials. His research interests include the molecular biology of skin cancers, molecular markers of melanoma progression, targeted therapies, cancer immunotherapy, developmental therapeutics in immunology, cancer vaccines, and combination strategies for cancer treatment.
